Final Fantasy IX is full of everything from all the previous games so I thought I'd make up a neat little myth about it, remember, this is only a MYTH! =)

This is in reference to the sword on the wall at Lindblum's weapon shop. When you go up and examine it, Zidane comments on how he remembers a guy who used the sword. This is the Buster sword from Final Fantasy VII that Cloud used for the first mission.

Unlike the Save The Queen sword (which only Beatrix can use) you can PURCHASE and EQUIP this one! Its not too difficult, but easily missed if you're not paying attention.

First, remember the two slots for materia Cloud's sword had on the cover of the game? Well, apparently those were intended for 2 Dark Matters. In addition to the Dark Matters you need one of each weapon Zidane can equip including the Ultima Weapon for this to work.

I know you can get one Dark Matter by just progressing through the game, and the other at the Treno auction in disk 3 but before disk 4. "The Tower" and the Ultima Weapon are found in Disk 4 so make sure you bought the 2nd Dark Matter!

Next, go to Lindblum's weapon shop and examine the sword on the wall right before doing this trick. Then sell your two Dark Matters to the shop owner and walk towards the exit, right before you leave he gives you the Adamant! (fans will remember it from FF1)

Anyway, proceed to the synth shop and the synthesizer will offer to make an ancient weapon if you give him all of Zidane's weapons, interestingly enough it only costs 789G to make. When fiished equip your new "Buster Sword" and take a gander at Zidane's Attack ratio soar to 302! (302 was Cloud's starting HP in Final Fantasy VII).

Not only that, since it IS a sword, you'll see the Seiken command when in battle so you can use Beatrix's sword techniques like Shock and Climhazzard!

The rest of the game will be a breeze with this bad boy in your hands, but remember, only a myth...
